PHOENIX (AP) _ Butch Johnson is headed to the Olympics for the fifth time. Khatuna Lorig will represent her third country. Johnson lives in Woodstock, Connecticut.
Johnson and Lorig are two of the five archers who will represent the United States in Beijing this summer. Brady Ellison, Vic Wunderle and Jennifer Nichols also qualified after a lengthy selection process that ended last week.
Johnson, who turns 53 in August, previously competed for the United States at the 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympics. He's one of four repeat Olympians on this year's team. The 19-year-old Ellison is the only newcomer and led in total ranking points.
Lorig will compete in her fourth Olympics. She represented the former Soviet Union in 1992 as part of the Unified Team, then competed for Georgia in 1996 and 2000. After coming to the United States, she missed the 2004 Games because she hadn't received her citizenship.
Wunderle qualified for his third straight Olympics. He won an individual silver medal in 2000. Nichols will compete in her second consecutive Olympics; she topped the women in qualifying points.
