BEDEVILING THE BLUE DEMONS
|
MONDAY- A win is a win is a win. Ok, no one really wants to hear that but for UConn fans, it's the way the season has turned. The seven point win over DePaul ended the three game winning streak and reaffirmed that the Huskies love Gampel Pavillion (should we call it "The Dog House".
As usual, the opponent jumped out to a quick lead and as usual, the Huskies came back. This time, they finished the job. They ended both halves with runs and right after the game, Jerome Dyson said it was their "poise" that got them thru. It was the same word George Blaney used in his post game press conference.
Poise will be of the essence on Wednesday at second ranked Syracuse. More on that later.
A sincere extension of sympathy to WTNH-TV sports producer Erik Dobratz on the loss of his dad, Ray, in the Kleen Energy Systems power plant explosion on Sunday. I didn't know Ray but if he was anything like his son, he was a hell of a man.
