CHESHIRE, Conn. (AP) - An inmate at the Webster Correctional Institution in Cheshire is back behind bars after a brief taste of freedom.
Thirty-one-year-old Robert Shepard of Stafford Springs was captured about 15 minutes after making his escape Monday while on a work detail.
A Cheshire resident called police after seeing Shepard jump a fence and go into the woods near Cheshire Park.
Police quickly arrested Shepard and a woman with him, 31-year-old Theresia O'Hara, also of Stafford Springs.
The woman is charged with interfering with police.
Shepard was transferred to Northern Correctional Institution, a high-security prison in Somers.
