A Rockville Superior Court judge Wednesday found 85 year old Clermont Genesse of Hebron not competent to stand trial and sent him to Whiting Forensic Institute in Middletown. Genesse is accused of attacking his 80 year old wife Francoise Genesse with a hammer April 25, after the two had signed papers to move into a home for the elderly. She died of her injuries last week.
Genesse arrived at court in a wheelchair and showed little interest in the proceedings. A team of experts found he suffers from dementia and does not even know he's been in prison in recent weeks.
