Preparing to defend their first season as Big East Conference Football Co-Champions, the UConn Huskies plan an open preseason practice for their fans on Saturday, August 16. Practice will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last approximately until 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Stadium in Storrs. There is no charge for admission and the UConn athletes will stay after the practice to sign autographs for fans.

This will be a preview for Connecticut as the Huskies prepare for their upcomming home season starting August 28 against Hofstra. Later on in the season they'll face conference rivals Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh all at Rentschler Field.

The open practice will be held weather permitting. Should weather become a factor the team will practice inside the Mark R. Shenkman Training Center, and the event will not be rescheduled.
