Manchester Police say they seized $237,044 in cash following a routine traffic stop Monday night.
Around 6:20 p.m., Hector Rivera, 35, was pulled over on Main Street for window tinting and license plate violations, police said. Authorities say an officer smelled marijuana in the vehicle and a search turned up $76,400 in cash in a bag on the back seat. Rivera had another $1,000 on his person, police said.
A subsequent search of Rivera's home at 34 Spruce Street turned up an additional $157,592 in cash, 19.46 grams of marijuana, and a .32 caliber handgun, police said.
Rivera and his girlfriend, Melissa Rivera, 31 were arrested on an array of charges including possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and risk of injury to a minor.
Both were held on $260,000 bonds.
