Mob Beats Up Van Driver In New Haven Dirt Bike Crash
|
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - New Haven police are investigating an accident in which a teenager's dirt bike hit a van and a mob attacked the driver of the van.
Police say the 15-year-old motorcycle rider has been on life support since the accident Wednesday evening on Sheffield Street in the city's Newhallville section.
Police say just minutes after the accident, a group of youths attacked and beat the van<s driver. Police say that at this point it does not appear the van driver was at fault in the accident.
Police say the boy ran a stop sign on his motorcycle and slammed into the side of the van at an intersection.
Police Chief James Lewis says the motorcyclist got major injuries and the van driver was ``beat up pretty good.''
