The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection is alerting consumers to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's voluntary recall of Safety 1st Disney Care Center™ Play Yard and Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yard due to a suffocation hazard. The portable play yards include a bassinet attachment and a built-in changing station. The one-piece metal bar spporting the floorboard of the bassinet attachment can come loose from the fabric sleeve, creating an uneven sleeping surface, and creating the risk of suffocation or positional asphyxiation.
The recalled bassinets were sold nationwide at Babies "R" Us, Kmart, Sears, Target, Walmart and other stores from January 2007 through October 2009 for approximately $100.00 and $130.00.
Models included in this recall are 05025, 05026, 05037, 05088 and 05350. The model number is printed on a sticker on one of the support legs underneath the play yard.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately.
