Suspect Arrested for Messages Threatening Howard Stabbing Witnesses

University of Connecticut police have arrested a suspect who they say posted threatening information in their investigation into the stabbing death of UConn football player Jasper Howard earlier this month.  Police say 18-year-old Christopher Mutchler of Wethersfield is charged with hindering prosecution, interfering with an officer, breach of peace, threatening and terrorism.

Police say they determined that Mutchler posted statements on the internet threatening those who might come forward with information in the investigation.

One of the postings was on a blog on the ESPN U Sports Network, and another on a Facebook "wall"  where individuals could leave their condolences.  They say he has no link to others arrested in the case, and that his postings were actually empty threats.
