VERNON, Conn. (WTIC) - Two vacant buildings suffered extensive fire damage at the intersection of High St. and McLean St. in the Rockville section of town early Saturday morning, police said. The blaze, which extended to 120 High St. and 10 McClean was reported at 2:50 a.m.
One family was displaced from an adjacent home as a result of the flames and was being assisted by the American Red Cross. A firefighter at the scene suffered a minor injury and was taken to Rockville General Hospital, police said.
Firefighters from Vernon, Bolton, Ellington, Manchester, Tolland, and Crystal Lake helped to battle the flames.
The fire was being investigated by the Vernon Fire Marshal's office and the State Fire Marshal. |
