The Hartford Symphony Orchestra opens its 65th season September 24 with a guest appearance by world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell. The program will include Tchaikovsky's Concerto in D major for Violin and Orchestra. Also on the program will be Dvorak’s Carnival Overture, Rossini’s Overture to La scala di seta, and Rouse’s Rapture.
Bell came to national attention two decades ago with his debut with Riccardo Muti and the Philadelphia Orchestra when he was 14. Last year he was awarded the "Avery Fisher Prize" and was the only U.S. musician named by the World Economic Forum as one of the 250 Young Global Leaders.
Tickets are available for the full HSO season, including the Bell concert. Single tickets go on sale to the general public August 1, with ticket prices ranging from $50 to $125.
