Westport Officers Wound Domestic Violence Suspect

WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) - A 42-year-old Westport man is due in court on a charge of attempted murder, accused of firing a gun a police officers.
State police are investigating the incident Friday night.
Westport police say Louis Bovino has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at officers who were called to his home on a domestic violence complaint.
Bovino received superficial wounds when the officers returned fire.
A state police spokesman says Bovino hid in the bed of a truck in his driveway, then rose and fired at officers when they approached.
Bovino, who is being held on $3 million bond, is due in Stamford Superior Court Monday.
