HEBRON, Conn. (AP) _ Charges may be upgraded against a Hebron man whose wife died two weeks after he allegedly beat her with a hammer.
Troopers say Francoise Genesse died Wednesday night at Hartford Hospital and her death has been ruled a homicide.
Her husband, 85-year-old Clermont Genesse, is being held on a-million-dollar bond, charged with attempted murder and assault. He is due back in Rockville Superior Court next Wednesday.
State police say the April 25th attack came only hours after the couple had signed documents to move into a home for the elderly. They say Clermont Genesse was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and had planned to kill his wife and himself.
