Love Letters by A.R. Gurney - On February 9, 10, 16, and 17, 2007 at 7:30 p.m., Southington Community Theatre kicks off its 50th Anniversary season with the critically-acclaimed play, Love Letters by A.R. Gurney. Music and the Arts at Center Church - Will join with CONCORA (Connecticut Choral Artists) for an afternoon of "Songs and Stories of Liberation" to celebrate the reopening of Hartford's historic Center Church follwing a significant repair to a portion of the ceiling that collapsed late last summer. Storyteller Valerie Tutson will talk about the underground railroad. She draws her stories from around the world with emphasis on African American traditions and from the teachings of the Bible. The Yale Whiffenpoofs - Every year 14 senior Yale men are selected to sing in the world's oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. The group has become one of Yale's most celebrated and hallowed traditions, carrying on almost a century of musicial excellence. CERT - Community Emergency Response Team Training - in conjunction with West Hartford Kiwanis. 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM West Hartford Town Hall. A CERT group is being formed and trained to work together when called upon to assist first responders in emergencies. Training will be on ID Tag machines, with the ID's to allow or deny access to various locations of an emergency site. Training process is through a grant from Homeland Security Department .
