Malloy Announces Run for Governor Former Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy has officially announced his candidacy for Connecticut governor, saying he brings the most experience and qualifications to the race. The Democrat declared his bid Wednesday outside the State Elections Enforcement Commission offices in Hartford, where more than a 100 supporters gathered.
