GAMES, GAMES, GAMES

Three games in four days, fun but a lot of homework. I tell people if I had done this much homework when I was at the late, great South Catholic High School...... But enough about that, let's start to look ahead
MENS HOOPS v WESTERN CAROLINA-
Larry Hunter is the coach , he coached Ohio when they beat UConn in the Big Island Invitational in 93-94.His team went thru a great deal of turmoil last season, with three players quitting in the middle of the season and the best player, Brandon Giles getting hurt in an auto accident and missing the final five games...
Giles is back and is the Catamounts best player. He is 6'6 and can score. 6'8 Jake Robinson can shoot the three and 6'8 Richie Gordon is a good defender. They have several JUCO's who they are counting on.
But the story in this game locally is the Huskies. The two pre season games showed potential but still some areas that need work.
FOOTBALL v SYRACUSE-
You all know the story surrounding the Orange. Greg Robinson is on the chopping block, all the stories getting closer to game time will be about Syracuse alum Randy Edsall. There is no chance that Edsall will talk about anything other than the game.
And the story of the game is Syracuse has to be looking at UConn as their final realistic shot for a Big East win this season. The Huskies have never won in the Carrier Dome but they haven't played a Syracuse team that has struggled as much as this one.
More on each game as we get closer to it.
And don't forget, we have both games here on the web & on WTIC-Newstalk 1080.Pregame is 7 pm Friday night and 5:30 on Saturday. We know that the faithful fans get more than a little annoyed when the games aren't easily available on tv. We hope you tune to us and we can give you all of the coverage you deserve.
