GOP Candidates for Gov. Agree on Big Issues

In their first live, televised debate, most agreed that less spending, not higher taxes, are needed to help the state recover from its current economic crisis. Connecticut is struggling with budget deficits in the billions over the next few years and a 9 percent unemployment rate.
The candidates included Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele, Greenwich  businessman Tom Foley, Chester First Selectman Tom Marsh, Simsbury business executive Oz Griebel, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, former U.S. Rep. Larry DeNardis, Newington Mayor Jeff Wright and home loan agent Christopher Duffy Acevedo.
Six Democratic candidates for governor are scheduled to debate Friday night on NBC Connecticut.
