CINCINNATI- It's a rainy Saturday in the Queen City, six hours before UConn and Cincinnati tee it up for the only time this season. Last year's two games were memorable, the one here included a UConn comeback from 74-62 in the second half and the season finale was a game that UConn led at one point 36-5.
I don't think today will be 36-5 but I think it has a better chance to be that tha 62-74 down with six minutes tio play. The Bearcats are struggling defensively. Offensively, it's Deonta Vaughn who lit up UConn at Fifth Third Arena last season, Texas transfer Mike Williams and 6'9 center Yancy Gates. Those three HAVE to have real good games for Cincinnati to have a chance.
The fear for UConn is a letdown after the emotional ,physical battle on Tuesday night in Morgantown. On the plus side, you would have to think A.J.Price will play better. And this could be a big offensive game for Hasheem Thabeet against an undersized Cincinnati team.
4 pm pre game with the women's pre game from West Virginia beginning @ 6:45.
Enjoy your Saturday and good luck with the snow. I fear I may be watching the Super Bowl champs begin their gtitle defense from the Cincinnati airport. Then again, we were in Dallas last year watching the Giants beat Tampa Bay. Maybe it's an omen!
