This is Payback Trip #1

I say payback for all of us who've covered the Huskies in all the warm weather cities so far. Heck it was 60 in Salt Lake City before Thanksgiving. But in the Steel City, winter has arrived and some nasty weather is expected today/tonight. Yes, the same mess heading home. And don't think the wife and son haven't reminded me of it.

As for tonight's game at the WVU Coliseum, I don't think the atmosphere or the game will be anything like the UConn-West Virginia Men's Game was Tuesday. The WVU Ladies are in very different from last season's team that went to the 2nd Round of the NCAA's. And Mike Carey, who is one of the more unrerarted coaches in the country has to start over. They're perimeter oriented and against Cincinnati Wednesday, could'nt hit anything in their loss. Sophomore Liz Repella is their best player at 5-11 as she had a double-double against the Bearcats. And their point guard is Senior Ashley Powell who is shooting more this year. But teams can still lay off of her. It has the makings for a long night.

UConn could'nt have played much better Tuesday in Tampa on both ends as the defense was contageous in stiffling the Bulls to seaon lows by far in shooting percentage and points. But I think that's going to be a common theme thru the Big East Season and may be the difference a week from Monday at #2 UNC. But still three games to play prior to the trip to Chapel Hill.

Don't forget, the Men are in Cincinnati at 4 w/ Joe & Wayne..Then Kara & I with our shortened pregame around 6:45 as long as the guys don't go OT. Enjoy the hoops and stay warm !!
