What I would have given to be able to be in Washington today for the inauguration of President Barack Obama. But since I don't think I would have had the VIP seats of Jim Calhoun, sitting in front of the television was the next best thing. Watching the departure to the church , the arrival at the White House, the entire inauguration ceremony, walking President and Mrs.Bush to the helicopter and the start of the lunch was the most riveting television since Super Bowl XLII,
A historic, proud day for the United States of America. Good luck to the President, the Vice President ,their families and the new administration.
Tomorrow night at the XL, the challenge for the UConn Huskies will be to beat a Villanova team that has beaten them two straight times and in three of the last four meetings. You know how good Scotty Reynolds is and how well Corey Stokes can shoot. Well, add Dante Cunningham to the mix. The 6'8 pivot didn't score at all against UConn in 15 minutes at Gampel in February of '07 and had 9 points, 5 steals ,3 assists and 5 rebounds in last years 2 point 'Nova victory at the Wachovia Center...Now, he leads Villanova in scoring and rebounding and will require a lot of attention by the Connecticut defense.
Defense has been the Huskies calling card in recent weeks, especially during their 5 game winning streak. It will be of the utmost importance against 'Nova. It will be a big game for the Huskies leaders to come thru and play well.
6:30 pre game, and join in the discussion afterwards on Husky Talk after the post game show!
