CHIT- CHATT
|
PHILADELPHIA- It doesn't feel like a week since the epic 6 overtime game with Syracuse, things happen quickly once the field of 65 is announced for the NCAA tournament. And today, it's time for UConn to get back in the pool as they play Chattanooga.
The Mocs showed respect for UConn during yesterdays pre game press conferences, but certainly no fear. Nor should they after a pre conference scheudule that included Tennessee, Memphis, Missouri and Southern California, all games played without 6'5 Kevin Goffney, all losses. Goffney is their best player, he doess a little bit of everything.
The man who makes Chattanooga go is Stephen McDowell, who ALMOST made as many three this season as UConn did AS A TEAM. He can get the shot off early and hardly missed a shot in yesterdays practice at the Wachovia Center... We have seen big scorers go off on the Huskies over the last couple of seasons, UConn hopes that isnt the case on Thursday.
Jim Calhoun will return Craig Austrie to the starting lineup against the Mocs, bringing Kemba Walker off the bench to provide a spark... It's critical that the Huskies get more balanced scoring , it just can't be A.J. Price and Hasheem Thabeet.
I think it is also critical that the Huskies put on a good performance to get their confidence back, Jim Calhoun mentioned the loss of swagger since the Jerome Dyson injury. UConn has to think it is good to be good , plain and simple.
Broadcast time is 2:25. Due to NCAA rstrictions we can't broadcast the game on the web so join us on NewsTalk 1080.
And good luck in your office pools!
