A FULL PHILLY AFTERNOON

PHILADEDLPHIA: Needless to say it was a full afternoon at the Wachovia Center.It was during the first half of the Texas A&M-BYU game that I learned that Jim Calhoun wouldn't be coaching today. You have heard the story by now and the best wish is that Jim spends a restful night in the hospital and comes out on Friday.
The game started slowly for UConn but once they got things headed in the right direction after the first media timeout, Chattanooga couldn't stop them. Early on, the Huskies took too many three pointers. Once they started to work the ball inside, then out, it was smooth sailing.
And the defense, sparked by Craig Austrie on Stefan McDowell was superb. McDowell had no rhythm and the way the 'd' recognized him was superb Give the big men credit as well for helping out and never letting McDowell get a clean look.
Another terrific offense game for Stanley Robinson, AJ Price and Hasheem Thabeet. 3-20 point scorers is impressive in ANY game.
I'll begin the preview of round two against A&M after the Friday press conference.
