Moose Spotted in New Britain

Department of Environmental Protection wildlife officials say a moose was reported in New Britain this morning, not far from Interstate 84, Route 72 and Route 9, near Washington Park.
DEP Spokesperson Dennis Schain says crews are trying to track the moose and will try to tranquilize it and relocate it to a more remote part of the state.
Local police say reports to them indicated the animal was spotted near Miller and Alden Streets.
Schain says there is a growing moose population in the state, with about 100 moose believed to be living in Connecticut.
