Gas Main Breach in Plainville Prompts Evacuations, Closes Roads

Plainville authorities are evacuating some people in the West Main Street area after a gas main break shortly after 9 this morning. Yankee Gas says a road construction crew working in the area broke an eight inch main. Police say West Main is closed between North Washington and Bohemia Street, and Forestville Avenue (Route 372) is closed between West Main and Route 72.
