Wilcox Sentenced to 6 Years in Avon Mountain Wreck
|
Former American Crushing and Recycling Company owner David Wilcox has been sentenced to six years in prison, in connection with a fiery crash at the base of Avon Mountain nearly four years ago.
The crash killed four people, including the driver of the dump truck owned by Wilcox, that careened down the mountain westbound and touched off a chain reaction crash.
The sentence follows Wilcox's guilty plea back in March to four counts of second-degree manslaughter and five counts of first-degree assault.
Prosecutors alleged that the truck owned by the Bloomfield company was poorly maintained and had bad brakes.
The truck plowed into 19 vehicles stopped at a traffic signal along Route 44.
