Former State Troopers Accused of Embezzlement

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (AP) _ A father and son who used to be Connecticut state troopers have been charged with stealing possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars from a business partner.
Sixty-three-year-old Karol Siedel and 39-year-old Michael Siedel were charged Thursday morning with larceny and conspiracy.
Southington police say the alleged scam involved stealing money from a company owned by Michael Siedel and the partner and funneling it to another company owned by both Siedels between 2005 and 2007. The partner was not named, and the exact amount of money stolen is not clear.
Police say some of the money was used to buy a home in Marco Island, Fla.
The Siedels, both of Southington, could not be reached.
