Huskies' Charles, Hayes helps Team USA destroy France



STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut's Tina Charles led Team USA over France 115-30 in the first round of pool play at the 2009 Women's World University Games in Serbia Wednesday.

Charles had 18 points. UConn teammate Tiffany Hayes added 15 points and five steals. She hit three of her four shots from 3-point range, and led the American press that forced 44 turnovers.

Ohio State's Jantel Lavender added 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Team USA will take on Great Britain on Thursday. Great Britain defeated Serbia 76-67.
