Council Member: City Should Crack Down On Tax Scofflaws

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A Hartford city council member says the city should be more aggressive in collecting unpaid real estate taxes, car taxes and other debts.
Veronica Airey-Wilson says she may follow up on a proposal to publish the names and last known addresses of debtors as a way to track them down and get them to pay up.
Most recently, the city counted nearly $564,000 in uncollected personal property taxes dating back to at least 2003.
