Human Skulls Found in Possible Voodoo Ritual at Cemetery

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ Police say a grieving family discovered two human skulls partially buried above the grave of their recently deceased father in Bridgeport.
The skulls were discovered Friday after Elda and Iris Hernandez came to visit the grave of their father, Pedro Hernandez Deras, at the Mountain Grove Cemetery. He was buried there June 16.
The skulls were stuffed with eight strips of what appeared to be bloodstained paper, each with a person's name on it.
The family said they didn't know the people named.
Brian Stiltner, an associate professor of religious studies at Sacred Heart University, told the Connecticut Post of Bridgeport that the effort had the ``appearance of some sort of voodoo spell.''
Police say they're confirming the skulls are human, and will perform DNA tests if they are.
