MARLBOROUGH, Conn. (AP) _ A 45-year-old Connecticut man is recovering from a rattlesnake bite over the weekend in Marlborough.
Robert Burns of Wallingford was bitten by the rattler Sunday while he was in a yard with his family during a Fourth of July celebration.
He is in Hartford Hospital recovering from the bite to his wrist.
People at the party were playing Frisbee Sunday evening when a boy ran after the flying disc near a wooded area. The snake came out of a pile of leaves.
Burns rushed over and tried to get the snake onto a stick when it bit him. Somebody else at the party killed the snake with a shovel.
