Autopsy Finds Drowning Cause of UConn Student's Death

GUILFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The Connecticut medical examiner says drowning is the cause of death of a 19-year-old New York man in a Guilford pond.

Garland Brown of Queens, N.Y., had been swimming with friends in the pond Sunday afternoon when he went under.

Police say the University of Connecticut student was found about 10 minutes later in the water by one of his friends and he tried CPR.

The autopsy conducted Monday concluded that Brown died of accidental drowning.
