Seymour Firefighter on Leave After Impersonating Cop

SEYMOUR, Conn. (AP) _ A Seymour volunteer firefighter accused of playing police officer has been placed on administrative leave.

Forty-four-year-old Brian Koskelowski, chairman of the Republican Town Committee, allegedly used his flashing blue lights improperly last week.

Police say Koskelowski flashed the blue emergency light inside his Plymouth minivan in an attempt to pull over a driver.

State police say the driver of the other car happened to be an off-duty police officer from Shelton.

Police say the son of Seymour First Selectman Robert Koskelowski, flashed the blue light as a vehicle sped past him while driving in the breakdown lane.

Koskelowski says he was only trying to alert the other driver to his presence.
