GAME WEEK
|
Wednesday AM- Game week is here for the Huskies. And not a minute too soon. Everyone, coaches and players alike, said they are anxious to get the sesaon started Saturday night in Ohio.
Randy Edsall likes the way this team has bonded and especially likes the leadership of his captains. The lawfirm of Lutrus, Sherman, McClain and Cullen have really worked hard to make this a team. BTW, it will be Desi and Reggie on the first coaches show from the video studio at the Burton Family Football Complex Thursday night at 6-10 on WTIC.
Lots of talk about Zach Frazier. It would seem he is confident about taking the reins of the new no-huddle offense. For Zach, it's all about doing what he can do and not trying to be someone else. After struggling to make his throws early in camp, Frazier has gotten much better. He also has a group of receivers who are anxious to prove everyone (read that the media) wrong in their assesment of their skills.
Don't worry about the running game. Todman,Dixon and Frey may not equal the totals of The Donald from last season but they should continue the UConn tradition of a strong running game.
The offensive line returns three starters, though Moe Petrus has moved about two feet to his left to center, The only newcomer is Matthieu Olivier at left guard while Dan Ryan has moved to left tackle to take the place of the New York Giants WIll Beatty. Watch the Huskies run right a lot behind Mike Hicks and Zach Hurd.
Tomorrow, a breakdown of the defense.
