The football coach didn't seem as perturbed at his team as he did immediately after Saturdays win, realizing on Sunday that a road win to open the season should never, ever be scoffed at. He talked about freshman defensive end Trevardo Williams, who entertained a half dozen media members after lunch, looked back at all the mistakes in last years North Carolina game, and talked about the new punt protection "THE SHIELD". The Coach said he would update Scott Lutrus injury status on his Thursday conference call but Sio Moore is definietly out. If Lutrus is out, or slowed down, it would cause a big loss of depth at the linebacker position.
Athletic Diretor Jeff Hathaway also talked about the new sportsmanship initiative. One thing discussed was fans being in the seats for the opening kickoff. You know how I feel about this. We go all over on the road, and the fans are in their seats when their team takes the field. I fail to understand why it is such a big problem at the Rent.
Ok, on to baseball duties, Game 1 of the Eastern League Northern Division Finals tonite in Norwich @ 6:05 on 965 HD2 and WTIC.com. Game 2 tomorrow night, joined in progress after the Coaches Show at 7 pm.Game 3 in New Britain on Friday night, 6:35 first pitch, 6:05 on 965 HD2 and WTIC.com...You gotta love post season baseball!!!
