Man's Body Pulled from Lake

The body of a 56-year-old Hartford man was pulled from a lake in Marlborough Friday night after an hours-long search. The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection says the man had been fishing with a friend on Lake Terramuggus in a 10 foot aluminum rowboat.

It appears the victim and his friend had been out fishing Friday and returned to shore around 11:30 a.m. and the victim went back out on the lake while his friend departed the vessel, the DEP said. About an hour later, the friend alerted authorities when he became concerned that the rowboat was out in the lake empty, officials said.

DEP Environmental Conservation Police, Connecticut State Police, the State Police Dive Team, and firefighters from Marlborough and Colchester responded to the scene to help search for the man. His body was recovered and he was pronounced dead around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Authorities continue to investigate. The man's name had not been released pending notification of family.
