STORRS: For the second time in five weeks, there was as much news made in the cafeteria at the Burton Family Football Complex as there was in the press conference. Head Coach Randy Edsall came in and told the assembled media that injured junior linebacker Scott Lutrus had been cleared to practice and was listed as probable for Saturdays game with Pittsburgh. The Brookfield native has missed the last three games with a shoulder "stinger" and underwent tests on the nerve this morning .
I would speculate that if healthy, it will be Lutrus at the Husky linebacker spot. Redshirt freshman Jory Johnson is listed as the starter with Jonathan Jean Louis as the backup. And even though the defense has played well in Lutrus abscence, Scott's return will result in a better defensive unit. He gives them another playmaker, which they will need the rest of the way. And it makes the linebacking corps with Greg Lloyd Jr and Lawrence Wilson one of the best in the Big East.
Both Cody Endress and Brad Kanuch talked about the ticket arrangements they have made for this game, Cody mentioned his parents had a box at Heinz Field to host their guests. Endres and Wilson will be this weeks guests on the Coaches Show at 6:10 on Thursday Night.
