New "Cold Case" Unit to Focus on Southeastern Connecticut

The Chief State's Attorney's Office and six local police departments are setting up a new "cold case"  unit to focus on unsolved homicides in Southeastern Connecticut.
Town of Groton, City of Groton, New London, Norwich, Stonington and Waterford Departments will work with the Office of the New London State's Attorney.
Authorities say several cases already have been identified and are being analyized and investigated.  Cases to be reviewed by the cold case unit will be chosen on a case-by-base basis.
Chief State's Attorney Kevin Kane says it's especially important when each individual department is working with a tight budget,  and says the collaborative approach has been shown to be successful.
