Car Dealers Pledge to Interview Veterans

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut's auto retailers and the U.S. Army say they've reached a deal in which veterans will be guaranteed job interviews when they return to civilian life.
James Fleming, head of the Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association, says dealers could benefit from hiring veterans whose skills could come in handy in the auto industry.
The agreement will be finalized Thursday in a ceremony at the Connecticut International Auto Show at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
Fleming says that although the veterans will be guaranteed interviews with auto dealers, they still would have to win the jobs based on their skills and merit.
