AG Wants to Know How Flu Vaccine is Being Distributed

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut's attorney general wants four manufacturers and nine distributors of seasonal flu vaccine to explain how it is being distributed and whether prices have increased.
Richard Blumenthal says the request is in response to complaints of price fixing and preferential treatment for big retailers.
He says his office has received complaints that seasonal flu vaccines are being offered at unreasonably high prices or being repurchased by distributors for resale at inflated prices.
Seasonal flu vaccine has been in shorter supply than usual as drug makers have focused on producing H1N1 flu vaccines.
Messages were left Monday for vaccine manufacturers GlaxoSmithKline, MedImmune Vaccines Inc., Sanofi Pasteur and CSL Biotherapies.
