East Haven Mayor Wins Re-election

     HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ East Haven Mayor April Capone Almon has secured another term in office by defeating her Republican challenger in the town's municipal election.
     Official returns were not available Tuesday night, but Almon says she's ``excited and very jubilant'' to win another term.
     She says she's ``humbled that the people of East Haven came out to show support.''
     Republican John Finkle says he met his goal of getting about 4,000 votes and had thought that would be enough to unseat Almon, but he was wrong.
     Almon had come under fire recently when she was arrested by her own town's police department after she interfered with an officer who was ticketing cars at the local beach.
