Three UConn Players Sit Out Game, Pending Academic Eligibility Confirmation

The University of Connecticut issued a statement late Wednesday afternoon that three UConn players will not suit up for tonight's exhibition game against AIC at the XL Center in Hartford. The school says only that the decision is pending an evaluation of their eligibility.
The school says it is reviewing academic documents to determine the academic eligibility of senior Jerome Dyson and junior Donnell Beverly, both guards, and may have a finding as soon as tomorrow.
In addition, freshman Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, a forward, is not playing, pending his initial eligibility clearance from the NCAA. UConn says a review of Coombs-McDaniel's records is underway.
