Regional DIstrict 12 Latest School District to Close

Students in Washington, Roxbury and Bridgewater, which make up Regional School District 12 in western Connecticut, are getting an extended weekend, but not by choice.
Wednesday was a planned day off for Veteran's Day observances, but school officials decided to cancel classes Thursday and Friday as well to deal with an increasing number of students sick with the flu.
Officials hope the extra days off on top of the weekend will be enough to break the cycle of infection.
All extracurricular activities have been cancelled as well.
