Connecticut remains a unanimous No. 1 choice in The Associated Press women's college basketball poll, with Texas A&M entering the Top 25.
The Huskies received all 40 first-place votes Monday from the national media panel. UConn has been the top team the past 26 polls, including the last 17 as the unanimous choice.
If the Huskies can remain No. 1 for 10 more weeks they will match the record set by Louisiana Tech from 1980-82.
The first weekend in the regular season produced a lot of blowouts and few changes near the top of the poll. Stanford was second again after winning at Old Dominion and Rutgers. Ohio State was No. 3 while North Carolina and Notre Dame switched places to round out the first five.
